Humble Bee Farm Wigwam, Camping and Caravan Site Terms and Conditions
To reserve a pitch or a wigwam, please ring 01723 890437. The following criteria applies when booking:
- One pitch/wigwam, two nights – full amount payable at time of booking.
- One pitch/wigwam, three or more nights – 50% deposit to secure pitch or wigwam, with remaining balance payable on arrival.
- Two or more pitches/wigwams for two nights – full amount payable at time of booking.
- Two or more pitches/wigwams for three or more nights - 50% deposit at time of booking, with remaining balance due six weeks before arrival. If your booking is less than six weeks away, then full balance is payable.
- We accept payment over the telephone by card. You can pay by cheque but the cheque must CLEAR six weeks before your arrival.
- You can also pay by BACS (Barclays Bank), using your last name as reference: account 30038059, sort code 20-67-75, Humble Bee Leisure.
All guests must observe the following conditions in order to keep the friendly and relaxed atmosphere in this peaceful, rural haven. Your co-operation is greatly appreciated, thank you.
If you are a group booking, we have additional Terms and Conditions which need to distributed to the group and signed by the organiser. The Terms and Conditions will be sent to the organiser and are also available on request.
Due to Health and Safety Regulations, please let us know the size of your tourer/ motorhome/camper/tent at time of booking so we can accommodate you on our campsite, thank you. We reserve the right to refuse if the details given are incorrect.
Please note: we DO NOT accept transit vans at Humble Bee Farm. This includes branded work vans of any description. We DO accept unmarked camper vans and people carriers – if your vehicle is large, then you may be requested to park it in the car park. We reserve the right to ask a guest to vacate immediately if compliance is not met.
Group bookings are taken at the owner’s discretion; guests are advised that our family-friendly site is a peaceful, rural haven and excessive noise is not tolerated. We do not accept bookings from unaccompanied adults aged 21 or under. Please see our additional Terms and Conditions for any group bookings we accept. We are NOT a site if you want to ‘party’ – Humble Bee Farm is a peaceful, rural location ideal for relaxing, peace and quiet.
- Pets: Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but must be kept on leads at all times. Please be responsible for cleaning up after your pets. Acceptable breeds only – please ask for details. Please see charges for dogs on our Tariffs page.
- Campfires: No campfires permitted, apart from the fire pits that can be purchased from reception. You can purchase a fire pit for £8 – only timber supplied by us can be used. You are NOT permitted to bring your own fire pit – any guest fire pits will be confiscated immediately. You are NOT permitted to use branches, debris, or other items you may see around the farmstead. All timber and similar flammable materials are the property of the owners. Please ensure you use your Humble Bee Farm fire pit safely.
- Noise: Please consider other guests and keep radios, televisions, barking dogs to a minimum, especially after 9.30pm. Music is not permitted on site (ie, CD players).
- BBQs: Raised BBQs only allowed, if kept away from trees. Do not encroach onto adjacent pitches. No BBQs to be positioned directly onto the grass. You can dispose of your used barbeque IN FRONT of the red BIFFA bin (NOT inside it!).
- Hook-Ups are provided on most pitches & inclusive in the price. Hook-up suitable for lighting, TV and low voltage domestic appliances
- Driving: The speed limit is 5mph around the park. PLEASE ENSURE YOU STICK TO THIS SPEED LIMIT. This is for Health and Safety reasons, and for the benefit of children and animals that may be sharing Humble Bee Farm with you.
- Waste & Rubbish: Wipes, sanitary waste, nappies, cloths etc must not be flushed down the toilets. Bins are provided – please make sure you use them. These items must be wrapped and put in the bin provided. Empty chemical toilets at the Elson point. Empty waste into designated drain. Refuse area situated near the reception. Please do not drop litter. The red BIFFA bin can be used for general waste.
- Children must be accompanied when using the toilet block facilities. Please be aware of where your children are and what they are doing.
- Farm safety: Please ensure your children do not use the farm buildings as play areas, and do not play on any farm machinery.
- The farm pond: Please ensure your children are accompanied when passing the pond, and if feeding the ducks. Please do not allow your children to play around this area.
- Emergency telephone numbers: A list of emergency numbers is available in the shower/toilet block and for emergencies a telephone is available in reception.
- Farm dogs/Pets: Please note, three Jack Russells are resident at the farm. These dogs are working animals, they are friendly but please ensure children are supervised if stroking the dogs.
- The owners of the park are absolved of all liability for accidents to caravans, tents, and guests and from any responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.
- The owners of the park reserve the rights to ask guests not observing the conditions to leave the park without refunds and with immediate effect.
- Final payments: if there is an outstanding balance, this must be settled upon your arrival. You will be issued with your pitch number, security tag and a copy of the campsite information – ALL guests and visitors must report to reception. Any additional guests which come onto the farm do at the owner’s discretion.
- Cancellations: We do not give refunds on any bookings made at the Humble Bee Campsite and Wigwams. However, should more than 48 hours notice be give, we will offer an alternative date should we have availability. Alternative dates, if available, will be offered for up to six months from the cancelled date (ie, a cancelled booking in June 2012 would be honoured up until December 2012). You can transfer the fee to an alternative type of accommodation: Humble Bee Cottages, Wigwams, camspite or to St Kitts, our holiday apartment in Filey. If a booking is cancelled, and you have an outstanding balance, then you will be liable to pay the remaining monies.
- In the event of a cancellation by us, our liability shall be limited to the return in full the monies paid.
- In the event of a cancellation, a £5 administration fee will be charged.
- REFUNDS: We regret that in the event of leaving early for any reason, NO REFUNDS will be given. May we remind you that your booking is a legally binding contract and in the event of cancellation or curtailment no refund will be given.
- Please note any damage to site facilities or any wigwam left in an unsatisfactory state will incur extra charges.
- Wigwams: Strictly no smoking
- Recycling: Please make use of the recycling facilities provided. We have recycling bins for glass, cardboard, plastics and paper near to reception.
- If children feed hens/ducks or come into contact with other farm animals, please ensure they wash their hands.
- No transit vans allowed on site without prior notice.
- Wigwams to be vacated by 10am on day of departure, arrivals from 1pm
- Caravan and tent pitches to be vacated by 11am on day of departure, arrivals from 1pm.
- Strictly no sub-letting of wigwams or tent pitches.
- Guests MUST report to reception, or if arriving after reception hours, let the owners know of your arrival time. Reception opening times are: 9am to 6pm (high Season), 9am to 4pm (low season). As we carry out cleaning duties or maintenance on the site, the reception will be closed at certain times.
- GROUP BOOKINGS must be paid fully in advance.
- We have a credit/debit card facility, available to use on transactions on £5 or over. If a transaction is less than £5, then there is a transaction fee of £1.00 per transaction.
Children’s Play Park
Our play park is provided for children to enjoy, open from 8am, closing at 9pm. If any inconsiderate noise is made, the play area will be closed immediately. Humble Bee Farm does not allow the following in the play area: ball games, bikes, stone throwing, bad language, water bombs or water pistols.
It is expected that all visitors have read and understood these terms and conditions.
What is provided in the Wigwams: Each heated wooden Wigwam has provided:
- Mattresses
- Microwave
- Toaster
- Kettle
- Fridge
- Gas barbeque
- Picnic table
You will need to bring:
- Sleeping bags
- Pillows
- Torch
- Toiletries
- Plates, cutlery, tea towels, cups etc
- Outdoor chairs
